Can you believe Christmas is almost here? Are your teens bored on their holiday break? If they are, then these activities might be a fun idea for them! I’ve personally enjoyed each of these as a teen, especially the decorating and movie marathons! Here are my top 5 Christmas activities for teens:
—Christmas Movies Marathon. I don’t know about you, but I only watch Christmas movies in December. Because of this, I love to watch as many as I can so I don’t miss out on my favorites by the time December is over. I’ve found out that a really fun way to take advantage of Christmas break is to watch all my favorite Christmas movies in marathon-style!
—Video Game Championship. Just like with Thanksgiving, one of my favorite ways to enjoy the holidays is by relaxing with several fun video games. I especially love getting my family and friends together for a Mario Kart championship!
—Story Starter. I’ve always had fun playing Story Starter at the holidays. If you don’t know what this game is, don’t worry, it’s quite simple. There are at least two ways this can be done. First, someone can say one unfinished, yet descriptive sentence. Everyone then has to write down an ending to the sentence or situation. After this, the endings are read out loud and it’s rather funny to hear how everyone thinks of something different. Another way to play Story Starter is for one person to write a sentence, and each person after them has to add another sentence to create a story. Either way, the game is fun and addicting!
—Teen Christmas Party. Complete with egg nog, sparkling cider, a White Elephant gift exchange, a dance floor, Pictionary with Christmas Carols as hints, Christmas carols karaoke, spoons, Slap Jack, etc. Lots of fun!
—Christmas Decorating. DIY string popcorn or paper chains for decorating the tree or mantle or wherever else! Perhaps creating ornaments if you enjoy that, or stringing lights for extra decoration. Whatever feels festive and you enjoy, go for it!
