Oftentimes I stumble across life hack pins or videos, and wonder where these hacks have been all my life. “Like, seriously, this makes it SO. MUCH. EASIER.” That’s pretty much all I can think. Some of these hacks would have helped while I was in school, and lots of them are still helpful for today. Unfortunately, though, even after learning them, I still usually forget to do them when the time comes. What is with my memory? Oh, that’s right–old habits die hard.
Anyway, here are 15 brilliantly cool life hacks! Hopefully you can remember a little better than me to actually do them.
If you mess up a voicemail, press # (known as the pound sign) to erase and rerecord the message.
Get a papercut? Putting Chapstick on it will help it not hurt as much!
Your turn to cook dinner (or parents out of town)? Go to SuperCook.com, list the ingredients you have, and it will give you recipes you can make with those ingredients.
Don’t want to be embarrassed with buying something? Purchase a birthday card to go along with it and voila! Embarrassment gone!
If you put a dab of Listerine on a pimple, it will dry it out and cause it to fade. Thank goodness for less noticeable acne!
Chew the same flavor gum while studying for a test and then while taking the test. It will help jog your memory!
Hanging a wrinkled shirt/dress/blouse in the bathroom while taking a shower will remove the wrinkles. The steam smoothes it out! It doesn’t really work on jeans since that is a thicker material, but thinner clothes work amazingly!
Eat marshmallows when you have a sore throat–they will help coat it and provide temporary relief.
When you’re meeting someone new and they tell you their name, repeat it back to them as you shake their hand. You will remember it so much easier!
Whatever the task is, if it takes less than two minutes, do it now. (Yes, I’m looking at you, procrastination queens!)
To get out the door on time, create a playlist that is exactly as long as your allotted time to get ready in the morning.
Eating breakfast in the morning makes it ten times easier to burn calories throughout the day. #funfact
For those who love pizza and everyone tells you it’s bad for you: eating pizza once a week actually can reduce your risk of esophageal cancer!
Burn your tongue? Put some sugar on it. It’ll help!
Have a cold? Connect an empty tissue box to a full one for a convenient trash can!
BONUS: (Warning: a little gross, but let’s be honest: it’s super helpful!) If you ever have to clean up vomit, spread ground coffee over it. Let it sit for a moment and it will take away the awful smell as well as dehydrate it so it’s easier to clean up. I wish I knew this before!
