As a homeschooler, I LOVED summer break. I was fortunate enough to be one the homeschoolers that actually did get a summer break, and as much as I adored school (I’m pretty sure I was one of the biggest overachievers in existence), I could not wait for summer break once May came around.
Not only is summer my favorite season overall, but I loved taking the break from school to focus on other projects during the summer. If you are looking for fun activities to do during summer vacation, I’ve compiled a few of my favorite summertime pleasures for your perusal!
Reading an entire book series. Summer is the perfect time for me to enjoy a new fiction series!
Going to the movies. Nearly all the biggest movies come out during the summer.
Late night ice cream. Warm nights, good friends, late night ice cream stops.
Running. I do love a nice trail and the pride of a good workout.
Binging Netflix. You know those shows you don’t have time to watch during the school year? Now’s the time to grab popcorn and watch them.
Purging your closet. I love using the extra time on my hands to donate everything I don’t need.
Nighttime walks. There’s just something about summer nights that are magical.
Hiking. Soak in that Vitamin D!
Outdoor movie night! Hang a sheet over your garage and grab the projector. Popcorn, soda, and candy recommended.
Game nights! Charades, Apples to Apples, Catch Phrase, Egyptian Rat Slap….
Bowling. Better yet, make it Cosmic Bowling!
Ice Skating. It’s hot, so why not see if your ice rink is open during the summer?
