a question about socialisation... (and a tiny rant...)

Hi everyone! I was wondering, do you have sugestions as to how I could get together with other homeschoolers in my area? I'll take any suggestions, Please!!!

I've been a little frustrated recently, because one of my friends, (a homeschooler) went back to public school, and now I know no one around here that's homeschooled!

    THANK YOU!!!!!

Hi HylianAssistant, I wrote an article about this not too long ago. Fitting in as a high school homeschooler | homeschoolsurvivor

One thing I didn't mention in detail in that article is the way I've met other homeschool kids around town is by walking. I walk to get coffee or at least do something every day, so the kids who are homeschooled in town were normally outside during school hours. Even if you can't meet homeschool kids this way, there's other ways to make friends and other people to make friends with.

Hello, ajones20! Thanks for your suggestion! I live in a tiny town of about 500 people, and this makes hanging out with friends very hard. The homeschooler/public schooler I mentioned was the only other one in town that we know of. The family is also very busy, and this creates problems. But, I'll kept trying to find other HS's in my area! THANKS!!!

You should join a homeschool group! You'll meet a lot of homeschoolers then :3

Hey HyrulianAssistant, Here's a not-totally-complete map of homeschooler groups around America and else I worked on a while ago. http://www.zeemaps.com/230148 Maybe you can find something for your area!

If you don't find a homeschool group, start one! I know it may sound silly since you are the only homeschooler you know, but if you start one, they'll come find you! It may also encourage public school kids to say "HOMESCHOOL ME PLEASE!"
