Planning Your High School Classes

College preparation doesn’t have to be complicated. For homeschoolers, it is simply a series of planning stages that parents and students go through to make sure they are on the right track. Grab our guide to navigating those important choices.

How to Choose High School Courses

One of the key aspects of college planning is determining how many credits a high schooler will need and what those credits should consist of. In general, we understand that a one-credit course is approximately equal to one school-year of study, and a one-half-credit course is approximately equal to one-semester of study.

Below, you will find three free downloadable tools that will help you best plan out those credits, based on what an average college or university expects a student to have studied while still in high school. It is important, however, to look at potential colleges of interest to see if they have additional course requirements above the norm.
